Director of the Office of Lifelong Faith Formation
Diocese of Portland

The Diocese of Portland seeks a committed, active Catholic to serve as the director of lifelong faith formation. This diocesan level position is responsible for the oversight of all catechetical ministry to every age group throughout the diocese. The director initiates, develops, and facilitates various programs and services that communicate the vision of lifelong faith formation; provides regular support and development opportunities to pastors and their parish faith formation staffs; and assists parish staffs in meeting the needs of parishioners in the areas of catechetics, youth and young adult ministry, adult faith formation, and sacramental preparation including Christian initiation, marriage and family life.  The director must possess knowledge of and be committed to the vision of all major Church documents relating to evangelization and lifelong faith formation.  This position supervises three full-time staff members. Executive Assistant to the Superintendent of Maine Catholic Schools

The Diocese of Portland has an upcoming opening for an executive assistant to the superintendent of Maine Catholic Schools. The executive assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the superintendent, coordinating the visa process for international students, and monitoring the progress of teachers and education technicians in the phases of certification and recertification. Responsibilities also include maintaining various files, composing draft communications, offering administrative support to the diocesan school board and certification committee, and preparing reports related to school data. Three to five years of experience as an executive assistant is preferred. Director of Cemeteries

The Diocese of Portland seeks a director of cemeteries to manage the ministerial, administrative, and financial aspects of diocesan cemeteries. The diocese has signed a management services contract with Catholic Management Services (CMS), a nonprofit organization that specializes in providing strategic business planning and professional services to revitalize cemetery operations. The director of cemeteries will be based in the Portland area and will oversee, manage, and evaluate the staff in all of its functions: sales, service, operations, grounds keeping, and administration. The director of cemeteries will report to CMS’s regional director, located in Rochester, New York, and will be accountable to the chief financial officer of the Diocese of Portland. Job requirements include five years of sales management experience and/or experience managing an organization in day-to-day operations, a practical understanding of the Roman Catholic funeral and burial liturgies and policies, and proficiency with general purpose computer applications. The successful candidate will be a Roman Catholic who possesses a supportive and energetic attitude toward the Church, her teachings, and her work. Parish Receptionist
